Hi! I’m Julie. I’m a writer, artist, author, athlete, and art therapist. Some of my favorite things are music, yoga, inspiration, photography, and spirituality. I have a MA in Art Therapy (2006) from Southwestern College, Santa Fe, New Mexico. I have a BA in Visual Art (2000) from Naropa University, Boulder, Colorado. I live in Mason, Ohio.
My healing journey began in June of 2009 when I was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer. By March of 2010, I completed my treatment plan of lumpectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation. My road to recovery was difficult because I struggled to make peace with my new normal. Affirmations, nature walks, art therapy, and talking with my spirit guide have helped me to become a strong survivor. I have also found healing through attending cancer survivor camps. I am also lucky to have wonderful friends and family who cheer me on.
